Definitions:

Stress

Stress is your body's way of responding to any kind of demand or threat. When you feel threatened, your nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which rouse the body for emergency action.


Anxiety

Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe. Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life – for example, you may feel worried and anxious about sitting an exam.


From these definitions it can be seen that we are all dealing with these natural body responses or reactions throughout our lives. Both of these responses have a natural resolution, but may take a period of time depending on the severity of the experience that we have undergone.


We can re-frame some anxieties into excitement , and some high stressors can be lowered through coping strategies. The quest for us all is to return the out of balance experience to the base balance as quickly as possible.
